Football website 90Min claim that Southampton are now being linked with a third Celtic player this month – after rumours surrounding Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada – with the club now looking into a deal for Josip Juranovic.
The Daily Record claimed just before the January window opened that Southampton were considering in-form wide man Abada. Then, Sky Sports claimed this week that the Premier League side also want to sign Daizen Maeda.
Southampton of course, have a history of signing players from Celtic. Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama, Fraser Forster and Stuart Armstrong are all examples of players switching from Celtic to the Saints. Joe Aribo, from Rangers.
Now, there could be a fifth player on that list. Following links with Maeda and Abada, 90Min now say the Saints are considering Juranovic. The Croatia World Cup star continues to be linked with the likes of Monza and Torino.
Southampton linked with third Celtic player this month in Juranovic
Kyle Walker-Peters, Southampton’s England international, is being linked with an exit. 90Min themselves claim that Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all want Walker-Peters. A move to Spurs would see him return.
So, Southampton do need to consider replacing the ex-Tottenham defender. Juranovic is one of the right-backs being linked with a move this month, especially after Celtic have already replaced him – bringing in Alistair Johnston.
Juranovic is more than likely to leave Celtic. If you consider the chances of the three Celtic players linked with a move to Southampton – Juranovic is the one who has the biggest chance to go. Southampton need a right-back.
Not just because of reports that Walker-Peters may go. So, there is a serious chance that Juranovic could be the latest Celtic player to move to the south coast with Southampton. But it does seem to depend on Walker-Peters.
