AS Roma are reportedly interested in signing Celtic defender Josip Juranovic, with the Croatian international expected to leave Glasgow this month.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants are keen to bring in a new right-back this month with Rick Karsdorp set to leave Roma in January, with Juranovic now on Jose Mourinho’s radar following an incredible 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Juranovic has been heavily linked with an exit from Celtic in recent weeks with numerous European clubs being reported as interested in the 28-year-old right-back, with Gazzetta dello Sport noting that Monza and Torino remain interested in Juranovic.

Lauded as ‘absolutely brilliant’ by Gary Neville during the World Cup, Juranovic has been one of Celtic’s best-performing players in recent years and was key to the Hoops reclaiming the Scottish Premiership title last season from Rangers.

However, with Celtic this January signing Canadian international Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal, selling Juranovic seems like a no-brainer for the Scottish giants, with Roma now interested in bringing the defender to the Italian capital this month.

Indeed, Juranovic would be ideal for a club like Roma based on the right-back’s performances during the World Cup last year. And with Celtic eager to sell, Mourinho’s side could be perfect for the Croatian, who is ready to play in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.
