Millwall are now set to beat Celtic to the transfer of Kevin Nisbet with the Hibernian striker booked for a medical. But the Bhoys still have one hope to hijack the Scotland star’s switch.
That is according to the Daily Record, which reports Hibernian have accepted Millwall’s bid for Nisbet’s transfer. The English Championship outfit will pay £2.5m, including add-ons set on his performances. But the Lions and the 25-year-old are yet to agree on personal terms.
Hibernian initially baulked at Millwall’s pursuit of Nisbet after the east London side bid just £1m for his transfer. Yet Easter Road chiefs have now accepted an improved proposal with Dunfermline owed 30% of the upfront fee. They included a sell-on fee for his move to Hibs.

Millwall now plan to put Nisbet through a thorough medical on Thursday and may wrap up his arrival on the same day. But they must first finalise a contract for the 10-cap attacker to sign. He has now entered the final 18 months of the forward’s deal at Easter Road to 2024.
Nisbet agreed to pen a four-year deal to join from Dunfermline in July 2020 for just £250k, per Edinburgh News. It adds that the forward will now pen a lucrative contract to move to The Den. His move will strengthen Lions boss Gary Rowett’s efforts to push for promotion.

Celtic have studied Kevin Nisbet for a transfer from Hibernian in January
Millwall sit eighth in the Championship table but are only outside of the play-off positions on goal difference. Rowett’s team have scored just 33 goals over their 27 games so far this term. Just Blackburn Rovers in fourth have fewer (31 in 28) from the sides above the Lions.
Now, though, Rowett is set to see Millwall beat interest from Celtic to secure a transfer for Hibernian star Nisbet. The east Londoners have sought a deal as the Glasgow native has hit seven goals in seven games this season. All of his haul has been in six Premiership outings.
Reports by The Scottish Sun cited Celtic’s interest in Nisbet’s transfer from Hibernian over the winter market. It added that his form since returning from a cruciate ligament rupture had impressed Parkhead chiefs. The forward returned in December after 10 months out.
Celtic’s transfer team were studying data from Nisbet’s Hibernian matches to see if he can cope in Ange Postecoglou’s high-tempo team. But the forward Ally McCoist calls ‘excellent’ is on his way to Millwall. So, the Hoops’ only hope is that they cannot agree to his contract.
