Giorgos Giakoumakis has reportedly agreed a deal to sign for Sampdoria. However, Celtic are yet to receive a single offer for the Greek international this month.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A side have agreed personal terms with the 28-year-old attacker that will potentially see Giakoumakis sign for Sampdoria in the coming days. However, Celtic haven’t received a bid yet for their talismanic striker.
Giakoumakis has been heavily linked with a move away from Celtic this month, with the Daily Record reporting that Ange Postecoglou will be open to offloading the former VVV-Venlo star in the January window for the right price.
However, despite Giakoumakis’ impressive record for Celtic since signing in 2021, the Hoops are yet to receive one bid for the Greek attacker, even though Sampdoria have now seemingly agreed to personal terms with the Hoops superstar.

Indeed, with Sampdoria sat in the relegation zone in 19th-place, Giakoumakis is making quite the gamble agreeing to terms with the Genoa-based club despite the allure of playing in Serie A. And for the Italian side themselves, they will be hoping their offer to Celtic is a good one that will be accepted.
After all, with terms between Giakoumakis and Sampdoria already agreed on, it would be an embarrassment to both the striker and Samp if a deal collapsed due to Celtic struggling to accept the transfer offer, especially for a player who clearly wants to leave.
Sampdoria should match Celtic’s demands to wrap up Giakoumakis signing

A transfer saga that drags throughout the January window is one that no supporter wants to see, with the player themselves feeling like they’re stuck in limbo as the two clubs try and fail to reach some sort of agreement. And this can’t happen with Celtic and Sampdoria this month.
As we know, Giakoumakis is keen to leave and has seemingly set his heart on Sampdoria. And for the Italian club, they must now be willing to put their money where there mouth is and meet Celtic’s demands for the Greek international.
