Celtic have now enquired about a deal for Derby County ace Nathan Byrne as their search for a new right back continues.
The Bhoys must find a new right back or two this summer.
Jonjoe Kenny’s loan spell is over and Anthony Ralston simply isn’t good enough to be starting on regular basis for Ange Postecoglou.
So many right backs have been linked; George Baldock, Sacha Boey, Brandon Soppy. So far, no arrivals in that area of the pitch.
The Daily Record now claim that Celtic have made their first move for Derby’s Byrne by enquiring into a deal for the 29-year-old.
Byrne has just one year left on his Derby deal, and with the Rams needing to sell to raise funds, Celtic may sense a bargain.

A diminutive yet speedy right back at 5ft 6in tall, Byrne started out with Tottenham Hotspur before stints in the EFL with Swindon Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.
Now with Derby, Byrne has been billed as a ‘leader’ at Pride Park, and boss Wayne Rooney has called him ‘fantastic’ for the Rams.
Byrne may not be seen as a first-choice option at Celtic, but he could be a bargain option to bolster a problem position.
