Cadiz CF are reportedly in talks to sign Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis, with the La Liga side the latest club to register an interest in the Greek international this January.
According to El Desmarque, the southern Spain team are keen to sign the ‘powerful’ Hoops star as Giakoumakis looks desperate to leave Glasgow this month, with the former VVV-Venlo forward in talks with numerous clubs this transfer window.
Sky Sports News recently reported that Urawa Red Diamonds are close to agreeing on a deal to sign the 28-year-old forward, with MLS franchise Atlanta United also interested in Giakoumakis. However, Cadiz have complicated matters by joining the race.
With interest as well from Italian and French clubs, Giakoumakis has many sides to pick from as an exit from Parkhead looms closer for the Celtic star. And Cadiz could prove to be an exciting option for the attacker given their La Liga status.

Indeed, whilst Cadiz sit near the bottom of the Spanish top-flight, Los Piratas are regarded by many as canny operators in the transfer market and a side who are exceptional at finding value, with Giakoumakis a player who fits that profile to a tee.
The Greek forward has bagged an impressive 25 goals for Celtic in over 50 games. And with Cadiz in need of a forward this January, Giakoumakis could be an ideal signing for the Spanish club, who are desperate to sign a striker this month.
Giakoumakis signing for Cadiz could be a great move

Giakoumakis has proven in the last three seasons with both Celtic and Venlo to be quite a productive goalscorer. And for Cadiz, the 28-year-old could be exactly what they’re looking for in the window, with the striker an ideal player for the La Liga side.
A potent finisher with great strength and attacking awareness, Giakoumakis has the potential to become a superstar in Spain with Cadiz. And with Celtic eager to sell, a deal could be easy to reach with just under two weeks of the window left to go.
