Celtic could be looking strike deals on transfer deadline day.
Celtic have already tied up three January signings, snapping up Marvin Compper, Lewis Morgan and Charly Musonda – but Brendan Rodgers may still be in the market for new additions today.
A new goalkeeper is needed after Craig Gordon’s injury, whilst they will also hope to keep hold of some key players, and here are some of the main names to keep an eye on for Celtic as they enter the final hours of the transfer window.
Scott Bain
With Craig Gordon now facing a spell on the sidelines, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to bring in another goalkeeper on the cheap to challenge with veteran Dorus de Vries, and Bain has emerged as a target.
The Dundee stopper – who is currently out on loan at Hibernian – is a top target for Celtic according to The Scottish Sun, with the Bhoys proposing to pay a nominal fee for the 26-year-old stopper on deadline day.
Jack Hendry
A top target for Celtic throughout the January transfer window, Dundee centre back Hendry has already been the subject of a failed bid from the Bhoys, but Rodgers doesn’t seem ready to give up his pursuit.
The former Wigan defender, 22, has impressed for Dundee this season, and the Daily Mail report that Celtic have now offered £1million to snap him up in the final hours of the transfer window as Rodgers attempts to finally land the Scot.
Emiliano Martinez
Another goalkeeper linked with Celtic is Arsenal-owned Emiliano Martinez, with AS in Argentina claiming that the Bhoys are ready to rival Leeds United for the shot-stopper’s signature on deadline day.
Martinez, 25, has made just 13 appearances for Arsenal and is currently on loan with Getafe in Spain, but could head to Celtic if the Bhoys can convince the Gunners to recall him and send him elsewhere.
Moussa Dembele
The big story heading into deadline day for Celtic will be the future of striker Dembele, who scored in the 3-1 win over Hearts on Tuesday night, given that Bhoys assistant Chris Davies told the Daily Record last week that Celtic know the striker wants to leave.
The French attacker, 21, has hit 41 goals in 72 games for Celtic since his 2016 move from Fulham, and with Premier League clubs queueing up to sign him, the Bhoys face a nervous final day of the transfer window.
