Brendan Rodgers is preparing to defend Celtic’s crown in Scotland after returning to the club with a bang last season.
Celtic won the double under the Irishman, including beating Rangers in dramatic fashion at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final to end the campaign on the highest of highs.
This is despite Brendan Rodgers having a few bumps in the road and perhaps allowing their rivals to make the Scottish Premiership title race way more competitive than they should have done.
One of the reasons behind that was the club’s questionable transfer recruitment and how it didn’t seem to please, not just the supporters, but the man in the dugout.
Celtic can’t afford to make the same mistakes this summer, or else, they will just open further doors for a Rangers team they can well and truly dispatch next season.
In some cases, fans are waiting to see what type of deals the Bhoys can conclude and whether they can pull a few rabbits out of the hat.
But on the other, certain transfers speak for themselves, and that is certainly the case with Celtic hero Adam Idah.
It was suggested to Hugh Keevins that Aberdeen hitman Bojan Miovski could be a potential signing for the champions instead of the ‘dynamic’ and ‘immense’ Idah.
But Keevins made it clear that the returning Norwich City star is the one and it would be an ‘emotional’ transfer given what he did for the team during his six-month loan spell, as he told Superscoreboard.
As of this moment, Idah returns to his parent club, who have a new manager, and that’s why a possible deal to sign the Republic of Ireland international could go to the ‘last day of the transfer window’.

“Adam Idah, talks on-going,” said Keevins. “Complications there. Norwich with a new manager and he reserves the right to have a look at Adam Idah, so Idah could be the last day of the transfer window, perhaps.
“There is an emotional pull towards Adam Idah because of the important goals he scored in the run-up to the league title win. Then, of course, he scores the goal that win the Scottish Cup final, so I think there is an emotional pull towards him.
“But Bojan Miovski, again, Aberdeen are going to drive a hard bargain here and understandably so. But I think Celtic’s first inclination would be Adam Idah.”

The fans were pretty vocal during the recently concluded campaign when things got tough and Rodgers can’t afford to repeat the same problems.
The worry won’t be what does or doesn’t happen on the domestic stage. Celtic have dominated that for years, even when they haven’t been at their best.

You could argue that the real issues lie in the Champions League and needing to make vast improvements because it was another disappointing run last term.
This is probably where fans want their club to take the risk, try to push the boat out and sign those proven stars, so they can compete much better in Europe’s elite competition.
