Steven Gerrard has left Rangers, and with the Ibrox club now looking for a new manager, Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic will feel that they now have a good chance of winning the title.

Celtic v Rangers title race

Rangers were easily the best team in the Scottish Premiership last season and were head and shoulders above Celtic.

Under Gerrard, now the manager of Aston Villa, the Gers did not lose a single game in the league.

Rangers were defensively solid too.

The Gers are doing well at the moment and are four points clear of second-placed Celtic at the top of his table.

However, unlike last season, Rangers have already suffered a defeat in the league.

And Celtic will know that Rangers are there for the taking,

Danny Mandroiu interest

So, according to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are planning to sign Danny Mandroiu from Shamrock Rovers in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that the Hoops are confident that they will be able to agree a deal with Rovers over the transfer of the attacking midfielder.

The report has claimed that Celtic are looking to bring in the 23-year-old ‘to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the title run-in’.

This clearly indicates that the Bhoys believe that Irishman can help Celtic beat Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title this season.

The 23-year-old is a goal machine.

The youngster has scored 15 goals in 30 Airtricity League starts so far this season.
