According to The Daily Record, Celtic target Vakoun Issouf Bayo is rated at £2 million by Dunajska Streda.

It has been reported that Celtic are poised to make a move for 21-year-old forward Bayo in the January transfer window.

The forward is reportedly attracting attention from clubs in Europe and has scored 14 goals in 25 league matches in the Slovakian top flight.

Bargain signing?

The Slovakian top division is not exactly one of the best in Europe, and some will be sceptical about Celtic signing a young forward from that league.

However, for £2 million, Bayo could prove to be a bargain signing and could make an immediate impact at Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers’s side do need to sign a striker for the second half of the 2018-19 campaign, and someone in form and with potential like Bayo does fit the bill.

Celtic are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup this season, as well as progress in the Europa League, having reached the round of 32 stage of the European competition.
