Celtic may well lose star striker Odsonne Edouard, with major interest in the Frenchman’s signature after a stunning season.

The Bhoys would be wise to have potential replacements in mind already. They certainly won’t want to start scrambling for a striker after Edouard has gone.

With that in mind, The Telegraph claim that Celtic want Shon Weissman. The Wolfsberger hitman has starred this season, smashing 30 goals in 32 games.

Weissman has five assists to his name too, enjoying a dream first season in Austria having joined from Maccabi Haifa last summer.

The 24-year-old was at it again just days ago. Weissman scored in a 2-1 away win at Sturm Graz, and grabbed headlines for a frankly outrageous goal.

Weissman latched onto a flick-on with a perfect bicycle kick from around 15 yards out, giving the goalkeeper no chance with a stunning finish.

Spox quote commentary during the broadcast of the game, which stated that Celtic have already offered €5million (£4.4million) for Weissman’s signature.

That may have just been a throwaway line during the game, so let’s not put too much into that claim right now. Still, Weissman showed his quality, and he was praised by teammate Michael Liendl for his remarkable goal.

“If it works, it works,” Liendl told Sky Sports Austria. “We have a crazy guy in front doing a fall back. When I was pulling out, I thought: what is he doing? He does things where I think he could solve it more easily. If I fall back, I break everything,” he added.

Weissman is turning heads in Austria, and whether or not Celtic have already made a bid, he should certainly be on their radar.
