Eoghan O’Connell scores for Celtic
Celtic have waved goodbye to 21-year-old defender Eoghan O’Connell who yesterday clinched a move to Bury.
BBC Sport reported that the centre-back has signed a three year contract with the Shakers.
His contract is set to expire at the end of June, and he spent most of last season on loan at League One side Walsall.

O’Connell featured seven times for the first team under Brendan Rodgers, including in the 7-0 loss to Barcelona as a late substitute.
Bury boss Lee Clark told the club website that ‘five or six’ clubs were competing for his signature.
O’Connell sent a message on Twitter last night to Celtic fans and now former teammates thanking them for their support.
The move to Bury may seem like a step down, and he certainly won’t be playing Barcelona next season, but it was an essential one for O’Connell’s career.
The defender is at an age where he needs to play regular first team football, having had a taste of it.
Celtic could not commit to giving O’Connell a spot in their side and sitting on the bench or playing with the development squad would be of little benefit.
Player and club part on good terms, clearly wishing each other all the best for the future.
