Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie warm up before the game
Norwegian youngster Kristoffer Ajer might be something of a forgotten prodigy at Celtic at present – but he is still a vital member of the Norwegian under-19 side.
Today he was in action for his nation once again. He netted a penalty on what was his under-19 debut, to get the ball rolling in a thumping win against San Marino’s teenagers.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila
Birk Risa of German side FC Koln netted five goals as Norway smashed home nine goals in a 9-0 win for the Norwegians at the game – which was held in the Netherlands.
Another good international experience followed what was an exceptional goal with the Norwegian under-18s a month ago against Denmark.

One of Ronny Deila’s last big decisions as manager of Celtic, prior to stepping down, was to sign Ajer from Start.
The talented midfielder was being linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe and the Bhoys eventually won the race to snap him up. Of course since he signed Deila has left Celtic and been replaced by Brendan Rodgers.
Ajer still awaits his Celtic first-team bow. But until then, he continues to have a good time with the Norwegian youth teams.
