The Celtic youngster struck a wonderful half-volley for his country, will it catch the eye of Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead.

One of Ronny Deila’s last big decisions as manager of Celtic, prior to stepping down, was that to sign Kristoffer Ajer from Start in his Norwegian homeland.

The talented midfielder was being linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe and the Bhoys eventually won the race to snap him up.

Of course since he signed Deila has left Celtic and been replaced by Brendan Rodgers.

The 18-year-old is still waiting on his debut for the Glasgow club, leaving Celtic fans eagerly anticipating his first move into the first-team.

But he is still highly-rated in his country and this week has been with the Norway under-18s side.

They took on Denmark yesterday and Ajer scored two goals in the game. Former Celtic scout Oyvind Johansen commented on both goals on Twitter. The second was from the penalty spot.

The first was a screamer.

Ajer himself (although Twitter account has not been verified) posted a video of the goal on Twitter. It is hard to make out but the half-volley certainly seems to fire its way off the crossbar and in.

The Norwegian talent is still waiting for his chance in the Celtic first-team. But if he continues to catch the eye like this, then it will surely be a case of when not if.
