Leigh Griffiths has told the Herald Scotland that his Celtic teammate Moussa Dembele is deceptively strong.

Dembele was brought to Celtic from Fulham during the summer transfer window, and he has made a huge impact at Parkhead.

The French youth international has found the back of net on 16 occasions for Celtic already, and he sits at the top of the Glasgow club’s scoring charts by some distance.

Dembele is already reportedly being scouted by a range of English clubs, but Griffiths is hoping that Celtic can keep hold of his strike partner.

“Moussa is young and he is raw,” the Scotland international said. “But he is a big boy, he is quick, he is deceptively strong and his hold up play is brilliant.

“He has been invaluable to us this season with his goals and his performances. We don’t want to lose any of our top players.”

Dembele’s brilliant form for Celtic has actually seen Griffiths lose his place as the Bhoys’ main striker.

Griffiths has regularly been used as a substitute this season, but he started in Celtic’s last match against Inverness and got on the scoresheet.

Celtic are still unbeaten in domestic action this season, and already have a 10 point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
