Celtic have begun their domestic campaign in dominant style, but their quest for European glory has not been quite as straightforward.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has explained how Celtic Park needs to become a fortress this season, both domestically and on the continent, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.
The Hoops’ Scottish Premiership campaign has started in impressive fashion, with Brendan Rodgers’ men taking 19 points from a possible 21.
They have their work cut out if they want to progress through to the Champions League knock-out stages, however, after a loss and a draw from their opening two games in the competition.

It was their draw against Manchester City last week though that Griffiths has used as an example as to how Celtic need to draw on the support of their home crowd, and ensure that Celtic Park is viewed as a fortress.
The 26-year-old Scotland international spoke exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times, and shared how important Celtic’s home form will be this term:
“Our aim is to get through this season unbeaten here at Celtic Park. It was one of the things that we spoke about at the start of the season – about making Celtic Park a fortress again. Whether that is in the league or the Champions League or any other competition we want to make it as hard as possible for anyone to come here. We made a pretty big statement with that draw against Manchester City. We are a match for anybody here at Celtic Park.”

Next up for the Glasgow giants in the Champions League is a home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach, and they will need the famous Celtic Park roar to be at its’ very loudest if they are to have any hope of making it past the group stages.
