Celtic star Leigh Griffiths has suggested that there is a positive side to being in the same Champions League group as Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero, despite their obvious quality, The Scottish Sun reports.

The Hoops go into Wednesday’s game with Manchester City looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Barcelona. The Catalan giants won 7-0 at the Nou Camp, with Suarez bagging a brace.

And with their upcoming opponents boasting a striker who has scored 11 goals in six games in all competitions this term, it seems possible that Aguero could well replicate Suarez’s display when Pep Guardiola’s men travel to Parkhead.

And while their hopes of progression in Europe were severely dented when they were drawn in the same group as the Citizens and Barca, Griffiths has claimed that there is an upside to the difficult draw from his perspective.

“Suarez and Aguero are the best strikers and it’s just unfortunate for us that both of them are in our group,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

“However, it gives you a chance to see what they can do at first hand. You can only learn from them and aspire to their levels.”

Unfortunately for the Bhoys’ talisman, he was unavailable for the trip to Barcelona, but he made his return from injury at the weekend so will surely be raring to go against the Premier League outfit.

And having taken little time to prove that he is capable of rediscovering his best form – he scored one minute after coming on against Kilmarnock – he will be hoping that he is the striker that everyone is talking about after the club’s clash with Manchester City, rather than Aguero
