Celtic booked their place in the final by beating Rangers 1-0 at Hampden Park.
Celtic’s Scott Sinclair scores their third goal
Scott Sinclair has hinted that he is looking to replicate his previous performance in a final when Celtic take to the pitch for the Scottish League Cup final against Aberdeen in November, the Daily Mail reports.
Brendan Rodgers’ men secured their return to Hampden Park by beating their Old Firm rivals 1-0 in the semi-final. And while Sinclair did not make an impact on the score against Rangers, he is targeting putting in the kind of man of the match display that inspired Swansea to promotion five years ago next month.
Scott Sinclair celebrates winning the Championship Play Off Final with Swansea
“I came here to win things and if we can get a bit of silverware before Christmas, we have something to build on,” he said, as reported by the Mail.
“It’s great for me if I can come to Celtic and win things and I’m sure all the new boys will say the same.
“The last final I played in was the Championship play-off with Swansea in 2011. We got promoted and I managed to score a hat-trick that day. If I could do that again, it would be great.”
Scott Sinclair scored a hat-trick on that day
While the Dons will surely be a tough test for the Hoops, the start that Sinclair has made to his Parkhead career would suggest that it would not be a big surprise if he had a big say on who will secure the first trophy of the season.
The winger has already scored eight goals in just 16 games for the Bhoys, including one in the 4-1 win against Derek McInnes’ men in the Scottish Premiership back in August.
And he will undoubtedly be looking to send a message to their cup final opponents when they face off for the second time this term in the top flight in the final game of the month.
