Celtic star Scott Brown warns Rangers against backlash

Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers will face Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic at Celtic Park, and Scott Brown has warned the Ibrox club.

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has told The Scottish Sun that Rangers can expect a backlash this weekend.

Graeme Murty’s Rangers will face Old Firm rivals Celtic away from home at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers’s side will head into the match against the Gers on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Hibernian away from home at Easter Road in the league.

Celtic midfielder Brown, who joined the Hoops from Hibernian in the summer of 2007 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million, has said that Rangers can expect a backlash.

Brown told The Scottish Sun: “Yeah it was a disappointing result at the weekend but this will be a great way to bounce back.

“Should Rangers expect a backlash? Yes! The fans will love the occasion. It will put a smile back on everyone’s faces.”

Celtic will clinch the Scottish Premiership title this season if they are able to pick up all three points against Old Firm rivals Rangers.

The Gers won in the league last weekend, and the Ibrox club will certainly do their best to win the Old Firm derby at Celtic Park and deny the Hoops the chance to win the league title this coming Sunday.
