Roberts, who is on loan at Celtic from Premier League club City until the end of the season, has said that he has no sympathy for the Colombian striker, who has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he joined from HJK Helsinki for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1.5 million.
The 21-year-old winger, who earns £5000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, told The Scottish Sun while alluding to his own miss against Rangers in the Scottish Cup in 2016: “Any sympathy? No. I can relate to it, but no sympathy.
“We were going there to win, as Rangers were in the semi-final against us, so they were delighted that I missed. It happens. But in terms of the game, I’m glad we won.”
Brutal comments
Roberts’s comments about Morelos are quite brutal, but that’s football. After all, Celtic won the game, and at the end of the day, that is all that matters.
The former Fulham winger will be aiming to make a good impact against Rangers in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon should he start for the Hoops.
