During an interview with STV News, Celtic starlet Moussa Dembele played down talk of Celtic winning the treble this term, following his side’s 1-0 win over fierce rivals Rangers today in the semi-final of the BetFred Cup.

The Hoops have been dominant in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, and currently hold a four point lead over Aberdeen at the top of the table, after winning seven and drawing one of their opening eight games.

Dembele, 20, has been a revelation for the Glasgow giants since his move to Celtic Park in the summer, scoring 13 goals in 19 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

The France under-21 international spoke to STV News after his side’s win over Rangers, and responded to a question regarding their chances of winning the treble this season:

“This team is capable of a lot of things. When we are out there together we give 100 per cent. But I won’t say we are capable of doing the treble. We just need to see how our games are going. If we keep winning games we’ll see what happens.”

The Bhoys have an extremely important two weeks ahead of them, with two successive away games in the league against Ross County and Aberdeen respectively, followed by their must win game against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

With a player like Dembele in their forward line, however, Celtic fans must surely feel like anything is possible.
