Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard says he believes the team can bounce back if the team suffers a double injury blow this week.
Both Scott Brown and Leigh Griffiths are at risk of missing the game against RB Leipzig on Thursday as they battle injuries.
The duo have been integral to Celtic’s success in recent seasons.
The trip to Germany is testing enough for Brendan Rodgers side, and will be even more complicated by the team news.
Celtic forward Edouard acknowledges it will be a challenge but has pledged to step up along with his teammates.
Speaking to the Evening Times, Edouard said: “It will be sad if Scott and Leigh do not make the game because they are very important players for the team but we have a squad full of players who want to play.
“If they cannot make it then we have to do the best with the team that the manager puts out.
“We are all professional footballers and we know what we have to do. It is up to us to go and show that we are strong enough to get a result.”
Celtic’s players have had a few days to prepare for the possibility of Scott Brown’s injury and need a positive mindset.
Edouard appears ready to try and be a leader for the team, but whether he will be able to against a talented Leipzig side is another matter.
