The Sweden international has been with the Scottish Premiership side since 2012.
Celtic’s Mikael Lustig
Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has admitted that he has, so far, held no talks regarding a new contract at Parkhead, but insisted that he would love to stay longer, the Daily Record reports.
The 29-year-old joined the Scottish Premiership side back in 2012, and has since made just short of 150 appearances in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Lustig’s deal has been allowed to run into its final year, and the Sweden international has conceded that there has been no movement over an extension, but hinted at what his reaction would be if a new contract was put on the table.
“There’s been no movement. I’m in my last season. We haven’t discussed the contract so we will see what happens,” he said, as reported by the Record.
“I want to stay. I’m really happy here and have been here for five years. I’ve loved every minute of my time here.”

The former Rosenborg man has continued to be a valuable member of Brendan Rodgers’ squad this season. Though he has predominantly played at right-back, he has also shown that he is more than capable of moving into the middle of the defence.
And with the first-team currently lacking depth on the right – though Cristian Gamboa was signed in the summer, and Rodgers may be looking at making further additions – it surely makes sense, right now, for the Hoops to hand the stalwart a fresh deal.
