Celtic booked their place in the League Cup final by beating their bitter rivals at Hampden Park.

Leigh Griffiths has admitted that he was left devastated after missing a glorious chance during Celtic’s Scottish League Cup semi-final clash with Rangers, The Scottish Sun reports.
Brendan Rodgers’ men secured their place in the final with a 1-0 win over their Old Firm foes with Moussa Dembele scoring the only goal with just three minutes of normal time remaining.

But it could have potentially been a more comfortable win for the Scottish Premiership leaders as Griffiths had an opportunity when he was put through with only Matt Gilks to beat.
However, the Scotland international squandered the chance, and he conceded that he was hugely disappointed to not capitalise on the opening.
“I’m devastated about that. I tried to put it over him but it wasn’t to be,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
“Nine times out of ten I’d have smashed it across goal but I thought Gilks was going to go down so I tried to chip him.
“I’m glad we got the winner because if they’d gone up the park and scored I’d have put myself in a hole.”

While Rodgers may not be too disappointed about Griffiths’ miss, it may be encouraging to the Hoops boss that one of his key men is not getting carried away following the win.
With the bragging rights at stake, it would have been easy for the Bhoys forward to get caught up in the win. However, it is clear that he is determined to make sure that he makes amends the next time he is in a similar position.
