The Celtic star scored his 100th goal for the club last night.
Celtic hitman Leigh Griffiths spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 3-0 win over Suduva in the Europa League last night, and hinted that he wants to commit his long-term future to the club by suggesting that he is targeting 150 goals for the Hoops, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.
The 28-year-old joined Celtic from Wolves in January 2014, and he has gone on to score an impressive 100 goals in 190 appearances in all competitions.
Griffiths’ playing time has been limited, however, after the arrivals of Moussa Dembele in 2016 and Odsonne Edouard in 2017.
The Scotland international spoke to reporters after firing his 100th goal for the Glasgow giants last night, and declared how he hopes to reach 150 for the club, as quoted by the Scottish Herald:
“How many can I score for the club? That depends on getting this contract over the line and how long I go on to stay here – if I can set my next target at 150 that would be great. It might help negotiations.”
Next up for Celtic is their huge home clash with bitter rivals Rangers on Sunday, and Griffiths will be hoping to play a key role for his side, as they look to close the gap on league leaders Hearts.
