Leigh Griffiths scored twice for Scotland against England on Saturday.
Scotland’s Leigh Griffiths celebrates scoring against England
Derby County ace Ikechi Anya has told the Scottish Herald that he thinks English clubs should be noticing Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.
Scotland took on England at Hampden Park on Saturday evening, with few giving Gordon Strachan’s men much of a chance against the Three Lions, given that they hadn’t even conceded a goal in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had given England the lead, but Celtic striker Griffiths then remarkably scored two free kicks in three minutes to put the hosts into a shock lead late in the day.

However, England did hit back late on themselves, with Harry Kane converting from close range, rescuing a 2-2 draw for Gareth Southgate.
Scotland can be proud of their performance, but will be heartbroken by conceding the late goal, with striker Griffiths unsurprisingly grabbing the headlines thanks to his two-goal salvo.

The Celtic ace started just 15 league games this past season as he lost his starting role to Moussa Dembele, but he again proved what he can do in front of goal with his display against England.
On Sunday, The Mirror claimed that Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are both keen on the 26-year-old, who was last seen in English football with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Now, Derby ace and Scotland international Ikechi Anya has told the Scottish Herald that he thinks Griffiths is ‘phenomenal’, and has backed him for a move to England by suggesting that clubs should be taking notice of his ability.

“Leigh is a phenomenal player and it says everything about him that he stepped up on that stage, with that pressure on his shoulders, and scored two free kicks like that,” said Anya. “We see it every day in training, he does some incredible things with the ball at times.
“There’s a huge difference from doing it in training and doing it at a packed Hampden against England. But he was able to come up with the goods when we needed him to and I think a lot of people around the country would have sat up and took notice of him. People in England should be taking notice of him, he’s been in great form for Celtic and now he’s doing it for Scotland too,” he added.
