Leeds United linked with summer move for Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley
Leeds United, who are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League, were reportedly very determined to secure the services of Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports reported on August 31 that Leeds offered Celtic £10 million in transfer fees for O’Riley.
Celtic, who won the Scottish Premiership title last season, turned it down.
The Hoops, who are playing in the UEFA Champions League this season, “reiterated to Leeds that they consider the midfielder not for sale”, according to the report.
O’Riley is one of the best young players in the Scottish Premiership, and his latest performance and praise from Neil McCann shows just why Leeds were so keen on him.

Celtic beat Dundee 3-0 at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership this past weekend.
O’Riley scored one of the goals for the Hoops.
While analysing the midfielder’s performance and his goal, BBC Sport pundit and former Rangers player Neil McCann spoke highly of him.
McCann said about O’Riley on Sportscene, as transcribed by 67HailHail: “He is a really cultured footballer. A lovely left foot”
The pundit added: “He is a top player, for me.”
The Denmark Under-21 international has scored three goals and given two assists in five Scottish Premiership matches for Brendan Rodgers’s side so far this season.
The youngster made 32 starts and six substitute appearances in the league for the Hoops last season.
O’Riley scored three goals and gave 12 assists in those games.
