Tierney has been a revelation since bursting onto scene at Celtic.

Kieran Tierney has suggested that he has been flattered to hear about the clubs that have been linked with being interested in him, but reiterated that his dream has always been to play for Celtic, the Daily Record reports.

The left-back has been sensational since being handed a regular chance in the Hoops first-team, and his form was arguably one of the few bright points to emerge from Ronny Deila’s final season in charge.

The Record reports that that has led to links with the likes of Chelsea, but Tierney has suggested that he is not allowing himself to get carried away with the rumours, especially because of where he is currently playing his football.

“Obviously when you are younger some people dream about playing in the Premier League but I dreamt about playing for Celtic . It was always a Celtic strip I wore,” he said, as reported by the Record.

“It’s flattering hearing clubs like Bayern and Chelsea mentioned. They are some of the best teams in the world but if you are a youngster playing first-team games every week for Celtic and doing well, you will get noticed by teams in Europe.”

Though Tierney has not played for the Bhoys since October, there is no question that he should remain a key man for Brendan Rodgers and thus, his comments on his future will be incredibly encouraging.

Keeping the defender at Parkhead for much of his career will arguably be as important a piece of business as any signing Celtic go on to make in the coming years.

He has shown a level of maturity well beyond his years, and should only get better over the next few seasons, especially as he picks up more and more experience in the Champions League.
