Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata wants to make his international recall count.

Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has spoken of his joy at earning a recall to Belgium’s international squad.
Boyata has re-established himself as a regular for Celtic this season and has been rewarded for his performances.
He was selected in Roberto Martinez’s squad ahead of former Celtic loanee Jason Denayer.
Boyata however is not resting on his laurels.

Speaking at a press conference reported by Nieuwsblad, Boyata said that he is determined to make it count and will be disappointed if he does not feature in the upcoming matches.
The centre-back said: “September was an important month. Being selected now is a small victory for me
“Each selection is important. And when I’m here, I’ll benefit from every moment. My goal is always the same: show as much as I can on the field.
“I’m a footballer so it would be a disappointment if I can not get into action. Of course I want to play as many matches as possible. But I do not make the decisions, so I have to try to show myself.”

Boyata has a tough ask to establish himself in the first team ahead of the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Vincent Kompany and Jan Vertonghen.
But Belgium have already qualified for the World Cup and Boyata may stand a chance of staking a claim for himself in the upcoming fixtures against Cyprus and then Bosnia and Herzegovina.
