Tottenham Hotspur were one of many clubs who were reportedly interested in signing Moussa Dembele before he eventually joined Celtic.
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele
Celtic’s Old Firm hat-trick hero Moussa Dembele has made the bold claim that Tottenham will continue to monitor his progress, when speaking to French News outlet L’Equipe, and reported via SportWitness.
The 20-year-old Frenchman also lavished praise upon Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, highlighting how the Northern Irishman uses Luis Saurez and Daniel Sturridge as examples for his players during training.
In an exclusive interview with L’Equipe, Dembele explained how he is not worried about being forgotten in the far reaches of Scottish football, and believes clubs who were previously interested in him will still follow his progress if he continues to shine, reported again via SportWitness:

“The clubs which followed me this summer will continue to do so. The stats, they talk wherever you are. I know where I am today. I know I have not yet arrived at the highest level and it is a club that will make me grow.”
Dembele’s words could be construed in the sense that he sees his future somewhere else rather than Celtic. Whilst he is obviously an incredibly talented footballer, he is still on 20-years-old, and has a long way to go before he establishes himself as a proven forward.

The former Fulham youngster has been an instant hit at Celtic Park, scoring seven goals in 12 outings for the Hoops, and if he can maintain that kind of goal ratio for the next year or so, it would be no surprise if teams like Tottenham came back in for him next summer.
