Celtic have failed to acknowledged Marvin Compper’s departure.

Marvin Compper might have left Celtic, but it may not have been an amicable parting.
The 34-year-old, one of Celtic’s most bizarre signings in recent memory, quit the Hoops to join German third-tier side MSV Duisberg earlier this month.
Compper joined the Scottish Premiership giants for £1 million under Brendan Rodgers 18 months ago, but didn’t make a single league appearance in that time.
And it looks like there might’ve been an element of friction between him and the club after Celtic downright snubbed him this morning.
The Glasgow club released a statement about Dorus De Vries’s retirement and sent well-wishes to all the players that left Parkhead this summer, even Scott Allan after his spiky comments last week.
But there is one player who Celtic ignored and it was Compper, whose named was omitted entirely.
Their statement read: “Celtic Football Club wishes Dorus all the very best in his future endeavours, and extends the same gratitude to departing players Emilio Izaguirre, Cristian Gamboa, Regan Hendry, Dedryck Boyata, Mikael Lustig, Filip Benkovic, Scott Allan, Youssouf Mulumbu, Oliver Burke and Jeremy Toljan.”
The fact that Compper was omitted speaks volumes in a way – or else the club, like virtually every single supporter, simply forgot he existed.
