Celtic are on the verge of signing Sligo Rovers striker Johnny Kenny – and could immediately loan him out to another Scottish club.
The Irish Independent report that Celtic have activated the €150,000 (£125,000) release clause in Kenny’s contract.
Sligo were fearing losing Kenny for that fee with no additional clauses, but they will receive money based on Kenny’s Celtic performances and have a sell-on clause.
Kenny has rejected Hibernian in favour of Celtic, but he may need to wait a while for his Bhoys debut.
The report claims that Celtic could loan Kenny straight out to another Scottish club, though that hasn’t been settled yet.
Maybe this is a case of Celtic learning from past mistakes.
Summer signing Liam Shaw has barely kicked a ball since joining Celtic, and is now off to another Scottish club for first-team games.

The same thing happened with Luca Connell, and getting Kenny straight out will give him senior exposure in Scotland very quickly.
Kenny has already excelled in Ireland, scoring 12 goals in 34 first-team games for Sligo Rovers.
Kenny seemingly has a huge future ahead of him, and Celtic could help his development my sending him off to another Scottish side.
