Oliver Burke has joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic on loan from West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window.
Burke joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic on loan from West Brom in the Championship in England in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old Scotland international winger has not played in the Scottish leagues before as a professional.
The youngster started his professional club football career at Nottingham Forest before moving to RB Leipzig.
Burke has admitted that he has not seen a lot of Scottish football, and has also commented on his future.
The 21-year-old told The Scottish Sun: “I just want to see where this loan at Celtic goes. I’ll try to play in as many games as possible, help the team in any way I can and see where it gets me.
“I haven’t seen a lot of Scottish football. The only time I’ve spent in Scotland is when I’ve met up with the international squads. But I can’t wait to get started.”
Future at Celtic?
Burke does seem open to all options in the summer of 2019, but perhaps his future likes at West Brom.
After all, the Scotland international is only 21 years of age, and there is no doubt that he has a lot of potential and will get better in the coming years.
What the winger needs is regular playing time and a boost in his confidence, which he will get playing under manager Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.
