Manchester United have upped their interest in 20-year-old Kieran Tierney, meaning Celtic could need to recruit in the summer.

Celtic’s desire to sign a new left back may have increased upon hearing reported strong interest from Manchester United, per the Daily Record.
Kieran Tierney has been exceptional since making his Bhoys debut in 2015, twice winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.
The 20-year-old signed a new six-year contract with Celtic in October 2017, however that has not stopped bigger European clubs circling.

Tierney’s versatility, switching from anywhere on the left flank and central defence, combined with his natural ability and leadership skills make him a very interesting prospect.
Should he make the switch to a bigger side, Celtic can expect to receive upwards of £20m in transfer fees. With a large sum of cash available, the next step must be to find a suitable replacement for Tierney.
However, should it be United who shell out the funds, Brendan Rodgers should stay in contact with the Red Devils in a bid to draft in Demetri Mitchell.

Mitchell has been on loan at Hearts since January, where both Jambo fans and manager Craig Levein have taken an instant shine to his mature, hard-working and energetic performances.
The 21-year-old made his Man United debut under Jose Mourinho at the end of last season. However, due a lack of game time, Mitchell bravely pushed for a loan move away from Old Trafford in the winter transfer window.
Levein has already labelled the Manchester born star ‘his best ever loan signing’, and it certainly would be a statement if Celtic swooped for his signature next season – be it on loan or permanently.
