If Newcastle United are selling Ciaran Clark, Celtic must consider him.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United are willing to offload Ciaran Clark – and Celtic should certainly enquire about his services.
Clark is deemed surplus to requirements at Newcastle, with Rafael Benitez having Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejune, Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez.
Celtic are fine for centre-half options at the moment – but that could change drastically come January.
It would take a brave person to bet that Dedryck Boyata – out of contract next summer – will still be at Parkhead by February, while Leicester City have the option to recall the impressive Filip Benkovic.
Worst case scenario, that leaves Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers with Kristoffer Ajer, Jozo Simunovic and Marvin Compper.
Clark, a £5 million [Sky Sports] signing from Aston Villa in 2016, has made one Premier League appearance for Newcastle in two months.
At 29, Clark, who has 32 caps for the Republic of Ireland, is old enough to offer any club plenty of experience, whilst also being young enough to have three or four good years left in him.
If his time on Tyneside is indeed coming to an end, Celtic could do a lot worse.
