Celtic have found a real gem in Odsonne Edouard and the Hoops should do everything they can to secure his future at the club.

Celtic star Odsonne Edouard made the news again after a splendid performance for the French under-21 side. The young forward scored twice last week against Albania and impressively repeated the same against the Czech Republic last night.
Four goals in two games is a sensational return, irrespective of the level he is playing against. It is hugely positive for France as well as Celtic, for whom he has been exceptional since making the move from Paris Saint-Germain at the start of last season.
The forward has played 92 times so far for the Bhoys and has been directly involved in 56 goals. This season, Edouard has been in sensational form scoring six times and further assisting five more in 11 games. Numbers like this make Celtic fortunate to have a player of his potential at their disposal but they should be wary about his future.
His consistent performances for both club and country is bound to attract attention from bigger sides in the very near future and Celtic will have to secure his services to avoid losing him for a fee much lower than what he is worth.

Edouard’s current deal at Celtic Park expires in 2022 which although looks secure now, should be extended as soon as possible. Having just two years left at the end of the campaign exposes him massively and Celtic cannot afford to make that mistake on a player as talented as him.
Holding onto him for the considerable future has to be the priority for the Hoops but selling him on for a mammoth profit is something that would be hugely beneficial to the club as well. A potential two-year extension including improved wages should suit Celtic as well as Edouard and both parties should get together to sort it out in the coming weeks and months.
