Celtic will no doubt be in for a busy transfer window in the summer as they bid for nine Scottish Premiership titles in a row.
Eight Scottish Premiership titles in a row was in the bag for some time for Celtic, but nine in a row isn’t going to be as straight forward as some may think.
The summer ahead is going to dictate what happens with the Bhoys next season, both from a managerial standpoint and a player standpoint.
The Daily Mail recently claimed that the Glasgow giants are exploring the idea of signing Bournemouth striker Lys Mousset in the summer, but he is valued at £10 million by the English club.
It is said that Celtic want a cheaper deal and they are willing to offer players plus cash in order to sign the 23-year-old Premier League hitman.
Given what Mousset has done in England’s top-flight, the value that is being put on him and what Celtic may end up having to fork out, it would be a baffling decision by the club if they were to go through with this transfer.
There are plenty more fish in the sea who can be a lot cheaper than Mousset and arguably provide more value than the former France U-21 player, i.e the club’s academy.
There is no doubt that the Hoops need to bulk up their squad and build a platform to go again next season because their Old Firm rivals are chasing.
But signing Mousset, especially with the price being touted, is not the answer the current champions are looking for in their quest to clinch yet another title.
During his time at Bournemouth, Mousset has played 71 games in all competitions [transfermarkt], scoring five goals and supplying five assists for a team that is known for its attacking style. That in itself would be very off-putting.
