Celtic came close to signing Martin Odegaard when Ronny Deila was in charge at Parkhead.

Odegaard was kept around by Madrid, but he has barely made any sort of impact at the Bernabeu during his time there.
Odegaard has, instead, just been shifted out on loan to Vitesse in Holland and he has impressed.
The Norwegian international has scored 10 goals in all competitions, and has been his side’s main source of creativity.
It is questionable whether Odegaard will ever become a regular for Madrid, but he could offer Celtic a great deal of quality if he was to move to Parkhead.

The 20-year-old’s ability in possession makes him a hugely exciting talent, and he would surely be one of the finest players in Scotland if he was to arrive.
Celtic fans are desperate to see their side show some ambition this summer, as they aim to make improvements to their squad.
And bringing in Odegaard from Madrid at the second attempt would be a great way to Celtic to start their transfer window.
