According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport (press reader) Juventus could allow Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner leave the club this summer.

The former Lazio defender has been on Juve’s books since 2011, and has won six Serie A titles with the Bianconeri. A top class right back, Lichtsteiner, can play as a right wing back and as a right midfielder as well.

In 2016/17 he made 26 Serie A appearances for the club, and also renewed his contract till June 2018.

The famous pink paper still suggests that Lichtsteiner wants to play regular game and Juve might grant that wish by selling him.

At 33, Lichtsteiner is still capable of playing at the highest level, and that is why Celtic should consider making a move for him.

First of all, taking his age into consideration, he would come at an affordable price. Secondly, he will add significant depth and quality to the side, which will help Celtic to put up a strong challenge in the Champions League next season.

Lichtsteiner can bring his wealth of experience to the side, and will make Celtic even better and stronger than last season.

The Swiss defender is slowly approaching the fag end of his career, but he still can deliver two to three quality years for any side. He would be a superb addition to the Celtic squad.
