Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want Jake Cooper at Ibrox, and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic should join the race for the Millwall defender.

Rangers are interested in signing Jake Cooper, with new Ibrox club Steven Gerrard having identified the Millwall defender as a replacement for Parma-bound Bruno Alves, according to The Daily Mail.
It has been reported that Rangers would likely to have pay a seven-figure fee in order to sign the 23-year-old defender in the summer transfer window.
Love Island World Cup: If EVERY contestant were an England player
Cooper is a very good defender who has proved himself in the Championship, and Celtic should join Rangers in the race for the former Reading defender.

The 23-year-old central defender would be a smart and good long-term replacement for Dedryck Boyata at Celtic.
According to The Scottish Sun, Boyata is on the radar of Fulham, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship.

Boyata is playing well for Belgium at the World Cup in Russia, and more clubs in England could take interest in the 27-year-old former Manchester City central defender after the competition ends this month.
Celtic would be wise to monitor the situation of Cooper and join Old Firm rivals Rangers in the chase for the Millwall defender, as preparation for the potential exit of Boyata.
