Daniel Opare is attracting interest from England, but Celtic would be his perfect home

Augsburg right-back Daniel Opare is attracting plenty of interest from England at the moment, but would the speed machine find a perfect home in Celtic?
Multiple reports have suggested Wolves and West Ham United are interested in the 27-year-old Ghana international, as he enters the final months of his current contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
He is unlikely to sign a new deal with the German club and that could see either club pounce for the former Porto defender, but Brendan Rodgers should push Celtic to the front of the queue with the lure of European football.

Cristian Gamboa’s future on Parkhead is very much in doubt as he struggles to make any kind of impact under Celtic boss Rodgers this season. He made just his third appearance of the season for the Hoops on Sunday.
Sweden international Mikael Lustig has been the subject of criticism from fans and pundits alike in recent weeks, while Anthony Ralston remains an up-and-coming prospect that has been sidelined through injury of late.

The concerns surrounding the trio suggest Celtic should look to sign a new right-back, and Opare’s desire to get forward and play like a wing-back would almost certainly fit perfectly into the Scottish champions’ starting line-up.
Combine that with Opare being available on a free, the Hoops would be adding a cheap alternative to their squad that boasts the same quality as a defender they would have to spend a number of million pounds on.
Signing Opare is the missing piece in Rodgers’ Celtic puzzle.
