The Frenchman would be a useful addition for Celtic.

Neil Lennon the head coach

Celtic will be looking to win nine league titles in a row next season, but Neil Lennon will have to bolster his ranks at Parkhead accordingly, with Rangers breathing down their necks.

One particular area where the Hoops will surely be looking to strengthen is their midfield options, with more creativity and guile required in the middle of the park.

And with this in mind, Celtic should consider taking a punt on Samir Nasri, who will be available as a free agent this summer, having been released by West Ham according to BBC Sport.

The 31-year-old, who has earned 41 international caps for France, struggled with injuries with the Hammers this term, but his availability on a free makes him a risk worth taking for Celtic.

Nasri possesses a certain kind of special sauce that would undoubtedly help the Hoops improve upon the fluidity of their play through midfield.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City ace has exceptional technique and a keen eye for a killer pass.

Every team will be out to stop Celtic form making it nine in a row next season, so they will need that little bit of extra quality, and Nasri could be just the ticket.

The former France international failed to prove himself at West Ham, so he will surely be desperate to show everyone that he still has what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

And Celtic would be the ideal place for Nasri to flaunt his skills.

The Hoops should offer the free agent a short-term deal, and if they can get the best out of him, he would be a real coup for Lennon’s side.
