Celtic would benefit from signing the Arsenal defender on loan.

Celtic are eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and appear on tract to retain the title, but manager Brendan Rodgers could still be active in the transfer market this month.
Rodgers has already secured deals for defender Marvin Compper and midfielder Lewis Morgan as he seeks to ensure that Celtic have sufficient depth in their squad.
If Rodgers is on the lookout for another signing then he may well consider bringing in a right-back, especially with Mikael Lustig’s performance levels having fluctuated this season.

One player who may well be available is Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson, whose frustrating loan spell at Birmingham City is likely to be cancelled this month, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Jenkinson has made just one appearance for Birmingham after dislocating his shoulder on his debut against Reading but he is now closing in on a return to full fitness and is eager to gain regular playing time elsewhere.

The 25-year-old doesn’t appear to have a longterm future at Arsenal but he could thrive in Scotland with his ability to push forwards and deliver dangerous crosses.
Dropping Lustig would be a difficult decision, but bringing in Jenkinson could well prove to be an inspired move for Celtic.
