Celtic may be looking for a new manager at the end of the season with Neil Lennon’s contract expiring in the summer.

Neil Lennon has made a promising start to his second spell as Celtic boss. But perhaps some of the Parkhead faithful would be forgiven for having some concerns about the idea of appointing the Northern Irishman beyond this season.
Lennon is unbeaten and has won three of his four games in charge. But Celtic have scored one goal in their last two games, and needed a 96th minute strike from Odsonne Edouard to bag the three points at Dundee last time out.
In fairness to Lennon, he has been given a fairly difficult task picking up the pieces after Brendan Rodgers’ rapid departure. With Celtic on course to clinch another domestic Treble, it was always going to be incredibly tough for him to over-perform.
But should the board have concerns about giving Lennon the job long-term, then perhaps they should consider a move for David Wagner who remains available having left Huddersfield Town earlier in the season.

I News reports that Wagner is currently holding out for a Premier League job, so perhaps an approach may be a little ambitious – even if his spell with the Terriers ended in disappointing fashion.
But given the brand of football Wagner got Huddersfield playing and some of the gems that he may well have helped to find in the transfer market, he could be a fantastic manager to consider to help Celtic grow in the wake of Rodgers’ departure.
Wagner – who worked under Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund – worked miracles to get Huddersfield promoted to the Premier League and then to stay there for a second season.

He may have a Premier League job on his radar. But joining Celtic guarantees trophies and would also allow Wagner to test himself in Europe.
And the Hoops would perhaps be getting one of the more impressive managers in English football over the last three years if they decided to target the 47-year-old.
