Swedish side AIK are reported to be eyeing a move for Celtic full-back Mikael Lustig when his contract expires at the end of the season, FotbolDirekt report.

It may be worth Celtic looking over AIK’s squad list first and trying to bring forward a negotiation, which sees them target the Swedish side’s star man.

Lustig needs replacing in any case, which Celtic must address. Separately, they must look at AIK playmaker Kristoffer Olsson.

Olsson, 23, benefitted from a move to Arsenal as a teenager and made one appearance for the Gunners’ first team.

His own impatience for first team football saw the midfielder move to Danish side FC Midtylland, before signing with AIK in 2017. He is now a Sweden international.

The central midfielder scored seven goals and provided eight assists last season and is a key player for the club.

Olsson could be an alternative at Celtic for potential target Nick Powell in an attacking role, and an alternative to Tom Rogic.

He has just over 18 months left on his deal at the Swedish side, and his experience in British football could be a help.

He is an ideal age for Brendan Rodgers to develop into a superstar, and Celtic should give him strong consideration.
