Celtic should already be planning their move for Nick Powell.

Celtic didn’t enjoy the best of summer transfer windows, and that may leave Brendan Rodgers already planning for the January window.
Immediate purchases will be wanted, but Celtic are no strangers to striking a pre-contract agreement, with Kenny Miller, Mikael Lustig and Gary Mackay-Steven all arriving in such deals over the years.
The Bhoys should be looking at similar options again in January given the budget restrictions Brendan Rodgers is working under, with players available for free if Celtic are willing to wait for their targets.
With that in mind, The Sun recently reported that Celtic hold an interest in signing Wigan Athletic playmaker Nick Powell, and would be willing to make a lucrative offer to sign him.
Powell is one such player who will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English club in January, and Celtic should be planning their offer to him right now.
Powell, 25, famously signed for Manchester United from Crewe Alexandra in 2012, but has found a home with Wigan having struggled to make the grade at Old Trafford.

With four goals and three assists in just 12 Championship games this term, Powell has become a star at the DW Stadium, and Celtic would do well to find a player as technically gifted as Powell for free.
Stuart Armstrong is sorely missed breaking forward from midfield, but Powell can fill that role, and with Rodgers allegedly keen either in a January transfer or a pre-contract agreement, Celtic should be planning to strike the latter deal and win themselves a real bargain.
