Liverpool winger Harry Wilson failed to win the permanent summer move many were expecting – but he could still leave Anfield.
Many thought the Welshman would move in search of a new home and first-team opportunities, having been out on loan four times.
Wilson has enjoyed spells at Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County and Bournemouth, but they haven’t really taken him any closer to Liverpool’s first team.
The 23-year-old surely won’t make the grade at Anfield now, and a shock move to the Championship appears to be on the cards for Wilson.
Goal report that Swansea City are favourites to sign Wilson on loan before Friday’s EFL deadline, and he is prepared to drop down to the Championship again in search of playing time.
If Liverpool do go and loan Wilson out to a Championship club, then Celtic should be pretty annoyed – and few would blame them.
The Glasgow Times reported on deadline day last week that Celtic had made an approach to take Wilson on loan, but were rebuffed as Liverpool refused to loan him out.

Less than two weeks on, Wilson is indeed heading out on loan again. Maybe Celtic had an issue paying a huge chunk of his wages at the time, but are Swansea really going to be paying any more?
Wilson could have played in a title-chasing side whilst featuring in European games, but instead, he is heading back to the Championship; a division he already conquered with Hull and Derby.
Refusing to loan him out in the final hours of the window and then performing a U-turn on that stance just days later has to sting for Celtic – and possibly for Wilson too as he resigns himself to more Championship action.
