Celtic talents Osaze Urhoghide and Liam Shaw could head out on loan in January as they are considered to be nowhere near Ange Postecoglou’s side.

That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that the two summer signings are fighting for their futures at Parkhead.

Both Shaw and Urhoghide were out of contract at Sheffield Wednesday in the summer and decided to leave.

Celtic saw potential in both players and signed them in bargain deals thanks to cross-border contract rules.

However, neither player has emerged into the Celtic first team this season and are thought to be short of Postecoglou’s plans right now.

That may lead both players to head out on loan in January, especially as Postecoglou wants more signings in January.

Urhoghide and Shaw yet to feature for Celtic

Urhoghide showed talent as a centre back at Sheffield Wednesday but didn’t look entirely convincing in Celtic’s pre-season action.

The 21-year-old is one for the future, but hasn’t even made it off the bench in a first-team game for Celtic.

Urhoghide has at least been on the bench for all of Celtic’s European games this season, but doesn’t look like challenging Carl Starfelt or Cameron Carter-Vickers any time soon.

As for Shaw, the midfielder he has only been on the bench for one league game this season.

Shaw may benefit from a loan spell with another Scottish club just to get more minutes. After all, he only actually played 24 times for Wednesday.

Selling either of them earlier would be a strange decision, but it’s hard too see them playing at Celtic any time soon.
