Celtic have reportedly set an asking price of £17million for clubs to sign their World Cup semi-finalist Josip Juranovic ahead of the January window – and that must to tempt Tottenham and Fabio Paratici to join the race for his signature.
Juranovic, 27, has been in superb form. Joining Celtic 18 months ago, he has already clocked up 50 appearances for the Scottish champions. He has become renowned for his ability both in the final third and at the back. Bags of pace.
Able to play on either the right of the left, he is also very adept at taking set-pieces – and penalties. But Celtic are preparing for his exit, signing Canada’s World Cup star Alistair Johnston. A move which left Andy Halliday gutted.
According to The Sunday Post (11/12, back page), Newcastle and Chelsea are among Juranovic’s suitors. From Italy, TMW say Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on Juranovic. But the latest report should tempt Spurs.
The Daily Record claim Celtic have set their price for those interested in landing Juranovic. Indeed, the Hoops are requesting a figure of £17million from clubs to land their right-back. Tottenham have got to be on red alert.

Tottenham’s lack of quality on the right flank is well-documented. Emerson Royal missed out on Brazil’s World Cup squad to the ancient Dani Alves, and was booed off the field during a 4-3 win over Leeds United last time out.
Djed Spence is not yet trusted by Antonio Conte. Matt Doherty is a good squad player, but not the one to start week in, week out. Ultimately, Spurs need a new right-back so they can sell Royal – and perhaps loan out Spence next month.
Signing Juranovic is ideal. He has shown he can hack it with the big boys, having done so in Qatar. A winning mentality, good going forward but excellent in defence. Able to play as a wing-back in a five, or as a right-back. £17m is cheap.
