Celtic have allegedly been scouting Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye.

Liverpool take on Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and Jurgen Klopp’s men will certainly be expecting a victory over the Serbian side.
The Reds beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday night, and now turn their attentions back to the Champions League after a disappointing result last time out.
Liverpool lost 1-0 at Napoli in their last Champions League game, failing to build on a 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain, and now need to get back to winning ways in Europe here.
One team who may be interested in the game is Celtic, as they scouted Red Star Belgrade’s game against Napoli last month, as reported by the Daily Record.
It was suggested that Celtic were looking at Red Star players, and given that scouts could quickly head to Liverpool for Wednesday’s game to look at players, with Brendan Rodgers and co no doubt planning for January.
Celtic could feasibly be looking at anybody in the Red Star side, with right back Filip Stojkovic fitting the bill, but striker Richmond Boakye has been a Bhoys target in the past.

The Daily Mail noted last year that Celtic had been watching the Ghanaian hitman, and if he is the man on Celtic’s radar now, it would be no surprise to see a Bhoys scout in the crowd at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Boakye was a star in Serbia, scoring 39 goals in 48 games for Red Star to earn a move to China with Jiangsu Suning earlier this year, but he has quickly returned to Red Star after a dismal time in East Asia.
Boakye, 26, has already hit five goals in five games for Red Star this season, and a trip to Liverpool may just give him another chance to impress Celtic, who are in the market for another striker having sold Moussa Dembele to Lyon in August.
